Press Conference
This afternoon, President Ben Rosenzweig held a press conference at Stadio Rocco.
Ben Rosenzweig:
"I want to take this opportunity to address some of the recent reports concerning LBK Capital and Triestina. I can confirm that Triestina did not meet the FIGC’s February 17 deadline for tax payments. However, this applies solely to tax obligations and does not affect player and staff wages, which have been paid in full. At this stage, we are in discussions with FIGC and Lega Pro, providing all necessary clarifications on this matter. We are awaiting their decision and are doing everything possible to mitigate any potential consequences.
As some of you may have noticed, while LBK remains the sole owner of 100% of Triestina Calcio’s shares, as part of its investment operations, LBK regularly welcomes new partners into its capital structure. The completion of these integrations has led to a temporary delay in the transfer of the necessary capital to Italy. I want to emphasize that this does not mean that either I or my fund are withdrawing from the Triestina project. I traveled to Trieste as soon as I could to personally reaffirm my unwavering commitment to this project. I have never been more convinced of Triestina’s potential for success than I am today. We have already invested a significant amount of capital, and we have no intention of stepping away. The work being carried out behind the scenes in the United States is entirely focused on strengthening our financial position for the next phase of growth here in Trieste.
I take full responsibility for the missed deadlines and am prepared to face any potential repercussions. I understand that this is a positive moment for the team, especially when compared to the difficulties faced in the earlier months of the season. I regret that my actions may create uncertainty and disrupt this momentum. I am in constant communication with Sporting Director Delli Carri and Coach Tesser, and I have not received any indication that they are considering leaving. On my end, I have been honest with them about the significance of this project to me and have reiterated the club’s commitment.
Any frustration should be directed at me, not at the staff or players. They need your support now more than ever to achieve the objectives that are within reach this season. Trieste has become a second home for me. The people of this city have welcomed me with open arms, showing unwavering support and trust. It pains me deeply to know that I am disappointing you at this moment, but I want you to know that I am fully dedicated to this project and will continue to give my all. No one will work harder than I will for Trieste."
