Statement from President Ben Rosenzweig
“It is part of our core values to listen to and engage with our fans, so I would like to acknowledge that many of you are confused and frustrated at the decision to make a coaching change midway through the season. I want to emphasize that we understand and respect those emotions. In fact, such reactions were anticipated in considering our decision, which made it more difficult, because we care deeply about our fans.
This decision, which we made as a group, carefully and deliberately, was taken with the long-term interests of the club in mind, based on some factors that the fans don’t always get to see. We are fully committed to building Triestina into a sustainable club that can be successful for the long-term, and sometimes that requires making unpopular decisions. Based on where we sit today, even with our recent run of unfortunate results, there are many encouraging signs for the future, especially relative to where the club was before.
We all want the same thing, and we appreciate your trust and patience as we execute our approach. In business and sports, success is never a straight line, especially so early into a new project. We are working around the clock to improve this club and we will not stop.
I will be back in Italy in ten days and look forward to holding a press conference where I can more personally speak with all of our stakeholders. Meanwhile, we sit in third place with much to play for, and our players and staff need your support as we work toward our shared goals.
I believe that our “Unione” is truly unique among clubs in Italy. Standing together we can accomplish great things.
Forza Unione!”.
